память, адресное пространство которой разбито на отдельные участки, сегменты. Это часто называют сегментированная архитектура памяти (segmented memory architecture). Сегментация памяти позволяет уменьшить длину адреса (адрес начала сегмента находится в регистре) и соответственно сократить объём памяти, занимаемый программой. линейное адресное пространство, линейная памятьсхема адресации памяти, реализуемая в некоторых процессорах (например, в RISC), в которой используется одна непрерывная последовательность адресов и обращение к ОЗУ производится с помощью адреса, находящегося в регистре или команде. В случае сегментированной памяти адрес формируется из смещения и базы, находящихся в разных регистрах.
